Hi, 
I am really new to the virtues of the GTS, having just bought mine from Steve.
Many many years have been spent zipping around the country and europe on Vespas and Lambrettas, and also on bigger bikes like the Honda VT1000 and the Pacific Coast (PC800). 
This is the first auto I have had, ever! So far I am not sure that it really would be the bike of choice for me. I admit to being a real traditionalist when it comes to scootering and there are a lot of preconceptions that I have to address. 
In all fairness, its an amazing scooter and will undoubtedly do exactly what I want it to... and that is to get me back and forth to work. I would have a real hard time coming to terms with turning up on a national scooter rally on one of these, but that may yet happen. 
I have been scootering since 1979 and attended loads and loads in those years. Yes I do own a parka, and a flight jacket and cherry red Doc Martens. But I am getting older now (at 42) and time to preserve my Lambretta for the rallies and not kill it on my daily commute from Berkshire into London. 
I am a member of the finest scooter club ever, the Armed Forces Scooter Club and the sole surviving riding member of 7th Heaven SC and Limited Numbers SC. Now living just outside Slough 
I think thats quite enough of an introduction. I look forward to reading and adding more.

most of us on here have a very similar scootering background to you and many still have the geared scoots tucked away in the garage but they don't get much use these days
