|

Just read in scootering on write up about a scooter show where PM were displaying there GTS 250 products, that they have brought out a baffle for the PM68 pipe that quietens the pipe and gives more power and costs £12 So i have ordered one from them, but they will not be available for about 2 weeks.
The picture looked as though it was a replacement end cap etc for the end of the pipe |

i thought it was tube that slid inside the original baffle tube and held in place with a screw drilled thru the end of the pipe....
you can get similar things for bikes called "decibel killers"
DECIBEL KILLER

No I dont think your wrong Maver, Ive seen one and heard it on Craig Es GT200, bit quieter, and a bit quicker he claims, ps I think Craig works at PM tunings place in Morecambe, but it might be a secret, so hushhhh. Maybe a PM to him by people interested? _________________ GTS250 its the future!!! A club wi owt a name sc. Bamberbridge. |

it can be retrofitted into existing pipes by drilling a small hole in the end cap and bolts into place simaler to the pic that maver shown

Wonder if anyone has bought and received a decibel killer from Performance Racing Parts. I paid for one with Paypal in March. As I had heard nothing from them, I emailed them to ask when I would receive the part.I had a reply on 3rd April to say due to sickness there was a delay in sending things out,but I was told it would be sent out no later than 7th April. I still have not received anything, and they haven't answered my latest email. |

PM told me that the new baffle will be available at the end of June. I'm a bit worried about fitting it if I buy one as I don't fancy drilling my new PM pipe. Any comments? Rich. |

Paul Melici told me that the Killer wll not fit the GT200 exhaust, with its little curved outlet pipe, and you have to replace the whole end piece with the GTS250 version first. An added expense.
I am concerned that the GTS end piece will make my PM62 louder, and the Killer will just bring me back to where I am now.
Anyway, I am going to check my scrap stocks for a suitable piece of pipe and make a DIY one.

Further to my previous post, has anyone seen one of these things in the flesh? Is it really just a straight piece of pipe, or are there baffles inside it?
Does it work by narrowing the outlet pipe, or by blocking off some of the holes leading through to the wadding?
I have scaled up the pic in Scootering magazine, and find it is 25mm outside diameter. I have some aluminium tubing that might do the trick.

there no louder with the gts end piece, infact youl get more performance with it being les restrictive, and all the decibel killer does is narrows the exit and some of the baffles inside to make it quieter _________________ POGUE MAHONE SC

I spoke to PM today and at the moment they are fitting the decibel killer to their pipes before selling them. They also told me the decibel killer will be sold as a kit along with a baffle replacement and will be approx £35 for the lot and will hopefully be on sale in the middle of July. |
