there were a batch of GTs's that came from the factory with the loom routed "over" a floor spar where the battery is rather than under the spar, this caused the loom to chaff and expose wires and ultimately fail requiring a new loom, think this was limited to a smallish number of scoots of the "55" plate variety.

i know russ had a couple delivered to his shop like this and had to rectify the error before the customer recieved the scooter. piaggio issued a dealer warning to check for this fault as far as i'm aware.

mine, when new, came from a dealer other than russ, it had the wrongly placed loom, had the fault, owner was put off, traded it with russ for something else, (also less powerfull) russ fitted new loom under warrenty, i bought it from russ, never had a problem since.

you'll know if loom is fitted incorrectly by removing the panel over the battery, loom goes "over" floor spar instead of "under"
