Hi Guys,

(GT125, knackered scorpion pipe which is about to be replaced by a LV Smile )

Out and about on a long ride today I found my bike seemed to have lost its power. At the start of the ride on a flat with the throttle wide open it wouldnt get over 50 mph. Later on it seemed to settle into normal running speed of 65-70 MPH but it was really slow between 40 and 60. Really sluggish. Could it be the variator has gone? Im still on the original stock variator with about 21,000 km on the clock. Any ideas?

Cheers

im on my original variator with 43000kms so i dont think it would be that

125 engines normally get a real good hammering so its hard to know. what has been done, have you changed rollers, examined the variator for wear. changed your drive belt

in this weather it could be something simple like a lose airbox letting water in causes the bike to choke, in damp weathers bikes dont exactly run too great.

could also be a faulty choke

believe me theres so much to try but go with the cheapest first a spark plug and new cap as on those engine the cap looks like its on but its not as the spark plug is almost horizonatal in the air

had its 21,000 km service with new belt, rollers, spark plug, oil filter etc. still having problems, just got no poke after 40. it comes when i have slowed down for roundabout or corners or just going through a 30 zone, the otherside is just really slow, no pick up.

0-60 takes about 30 secs Crying or Very sad
