What is the difference in petrol consumption between the MP3 and Fuoco?
Is there enough room in the MP3 boot to fit rally stuff (2 man tent, sleeping bag & a bit of clobber)? At the moment, i'm just trying to justify buying an MP3 instead of waiting until i've got more towards Fuoco (coz i hate waiting for anything). Thanks for any info. |

MP3 has bigger under seat area without a doubt... the 250 has the biggest of all due to the 400/500 engine protruding higher into the seat area.
Fuel consumption is similar on the 400 and 500 models... 250 is best again.
Which you buy depends on what you wanna do with it... 250 is the best option for town and shorter trips, if ya gonna do loads of miles you always need more power to enable higher cruising speeds with more in reserve for overtaking. |

He wanted more overtaking power when crusing... Once the 250 if cruising in the higher speeds theres nothing left in reserve so overtaking means forward planning where as on the 400/500 models you can just pull out and nip past...
Theres not much difference between a MP3400 and a Fuoco.. the fuoco has a little more engine power, but the MP3 has much better aerodynamics... so they end up fairly even. |

well........i was spoilt by the gilera nexus for power and speed,i liked the idea of the mp3 and was happy with it until a longish ride to dorset on the motorway it is very plain (well for me anyway) i was finding it hard to keep up with the flow of the GTS boys.....up hill and in the wind i found it a struggle too.........the fuoco just has the extra poke i need for two up rally work _________________

I dont really do 2 up (apart from short runs), so if the MP3 is approx the same as the GTS (1 up), it should be okay for me. One more question about the boot, is it linked to the under seat compartment (i want to get a tent in which is about 2 foot long). Thanks for info so far (Gav, the resident tripod doctor ). |

As Maver says, you could get several golf clubs in there if you wanted. The second seat, if you're not using it for seating someone, is nice and wide, also and the grab rails very sturdy. You could strap on a serious amount of stuff. If you get the Piaggio top box there's even more scope for strapping things back there - if comes with a very sturdy mounting.
You might have to then perform some kind of ballet kick to mount the thing, but you could fit a pair of pretty big bags in the footwell too.
Comments on the power are true, though. It's my first scooter, so it's probably a good thing for me But, I don't doubt I will be "the slow one" on the motorways. Maybe not the twisties, though, once I'm a better rider... _________________ Do two and 1/4 rallies mean I'm not a scoot noob anymore? |
