I have had my 250gts for 4 months now and use it every day for work i've had loads of different bikes but this is great for commuting. The other day the button you press to release the seat would not work so i looked in my manual and found the lever in the glove box ,so i can at least fill up with fuel. All fuses are ok any idea's ?

The link posted will point to the problem...

But... its not the contacts he shows thats the problem, its the small copper section fitted into the plastic body that gets bad, if your VERY lucky a light sand with 1200 grit wet and dry and some switch cleaner and it will be fine, but normally as the copper track is so thin it eats through it by the time the switch stops and at best even once cleaned it becomes hit and miss if it will work or not...

But a new switch is only £5 and if you pack it with a little grease before fitting it, it will never be a problem again.

mine had this problem and i was dropping it off for the service so i asked if they could do it for me. when i came to collect they said they hadn't cos it would have cost 45 mins labour!!! Im glad they didn't, only took me 10 mins, you do need small hands though, same as doing anything on these machines!

I didn't have the above posts available when I had this problem, and I don't have small hands. So I pulled off the whole inside of the legshield to get at the switch!
