orderd a clutch nut cover for my scooter a week or two ago. it arrived.
you know, that little chrome cover that says "vespa" on the transmission cover
went to fit it, wouldnt fit.....
SO, sent it back and they said it was the right part number/engine/model everything. they then said that they arent making the 05 06 type cover anymore.
WHY THE F**K DID THEY STOP PRODUCING THE 06 CHROME CLUTCH NUT COVERS???? i can't get one at all! its only an 06!! and the one they sent me doesnt fit becuase the clips are different. so i've gotta ride round with my old one glued on. or take it off an have water enter the transmission shagging it from the inside out!
if it was a rare 50 year old lammy i'd expect it but its not.
its not as though the engine is different in any way so why change it and screw all the people who want replacement parts?
!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
can all the dealer's on here tell them how shit they are and that hundreds of people are gonna want them if a tab gets snapped off accidently.
or could they at least give us something that'll fit!
everyone knows theyre tight bastards, just look at the exhaust gasket recall! hmm well, weld a washer on so the gasses can burn through something else major like a coolant hose instead of the brake line, hmmmm...... great for us if its out of warranty!
oh and if anyone knows anyone could get me one it would be greatly appreciated. _________________ revolution deathsquad! |

I assume you have the old style case, which uses the cover with big large pegs, but the new one supplied has small pegs..... if so you also need the 3 grommets.
On the old covers it relied on a sprung plastic peg to hold the cover on, and in time they would snap off and the cover falls off... so they redesigned it and you fit 3 rubber grommets into the case and the new cover pushes into these...
As for complaining about warranty... buy an aprilia then!
I got a letter on 29/01/2007 telling me to stop using my bike as it needed a recall swingarm due to them snapping.... its still not here! |

I got one of these covers, it was only Smirnoff's post about the grommets that made me aware.
I called AJ Sutton, and they sent them out next day delivery. Unfortunately, my mum has 'tidied up' and now I can't find the little buggers. So I'm going to be ordering some more very shortly. _________________
