got my front tyre changed a while back, about or 4 months ago.
i've been belting about on itfor about 6k now and its starting to wear. i needed to change the front pads and tighten the front shock up a little. so i took the front wheel off.
when i spun to check the wheel bearings i noticed that there was something rolling about inside the tyre???!!
wtf?
i dotn know what it is but i'd love to know. theres no problem with the valve, and i done have a slow puncture either.
and it aint got those crazy dynabeads in either.
i cant wait to throw the tyre in the bin to see whats in there.
its probably rabbit poo or something _________________ revolution deathsquad! |

Ive seen little balls of stuff inside tyres, its tyre soap, applied to the tyre to aid in putting the tyre onto the rim, it then falls about inside the tyre slowly becoming round and semi hard, {ooh err mrs} not a problem, but could block the valve on de flation, wouldnt worry about it, obviuosly you dont have any Punture sealant inside your tyres, or you wouldnt get the rolling around sound, OR, the bottom has broken off the valve core, check by removing the dust cap, as the cap must be all thats keeping the pressure in! _________________ GTS250 its the future!!! i removed the cap. no probs. the valve is working alright so theres no problems. it'll be the tyre soap i bet. not gonna go for michelin's no more though.
i'm due a new front soon becuase its worn on one side, my mad braking into roundabouts is probably the cuprit there. _________________ revolution deathsquad! |

Mad braking, hah ha theres no answer to that, no doubt about Michelins ability to make decent tyres, but Ive got Heidenau racer tyres on mine, so has another mate, and Craig E from this site, proper bo I tell thee, not too expensive, one of the best speed ratings too, had em on lammys for last few years good mileage, no I dont work for them, SIP Germany do them, or check locally. _________________ GTS250 its the future!!! Sometimes they put a small chalk ball inside the tyre to 'lubricate' it while it's spinning around. Stops the tyre drying out and cracking. |

Tyre stickyness, the trouble with that is the sticky type compound wears out quickly and tyres need to be warm to be sticky, they also tend to be a "cut slick" type, so not very good in winter, horses for courses I guess, if only tyres for scooters had a more hard compound in the middle and softer for outside _________________ GTS250 its the future!!! IF its any recommedation, Frank Sanderson {Lambretta Innovations} that custom fits auto engines or any engine into Lammy frames, always uses Heideau tyres on his Sandertune scooters. Ive already done 3500miles on my rear tyre which is about when the Sava original rear tyre was bald! still only about half worn too. regards Paul _________________ GTS250 its the future!!!
