In the Northeast coast of America we have what is called an EZ PASS.
an electonic device that automatically tallies the toll and removes it from your account. sends you the statement each month.
no more fumbling for tokens here. |

we also have that system here in the U.K.
however with so few toll roads or bridges etc it hardly seems worth it unless you use one of them on a regular basis.
my nearest toll is about 10 miles and motorcycles are free anyway _________________

Anyone remember the BMF protest ride at the bike charges at the Dartford Crossing back in the early 90's?
Brilliant idea; get thousands of bikes to travel through the tunnel in one direction, turn around and come back across the newly opened bridge in the other direction. Caused absolute chaos at the tolls, backed the traffic up for miles in both directions and, lo and behold, the toll fee for bikes was dropped.
Does take the fun out of cutting through the queues and annoying car drivers by taking your time to find the cash though! |
