they should be locked anyhow without the key?

to open my glovebox you need to push the key in (its locked otherwise), and as long as the seat has no obstructions it shuts and locks fine without the use of a key or anything (and you need the key to open it, so it is locked)

or am I misreading this?

to be honest I've never left my bike anywhere for any amount of time without the steering lock on, so I've never discovered if the seat opens without the key in and steering lock off...just dont do it round 'ere Wink

3 positions for key

1/ everything locked, (steering, glovebox, seat), immobilisor light should be flashing (key turned fully anti clockwise)
2/ seat will open glove box will open (key in centre position)
3/ ignition on, dash lit, scoot will start, seat and glove box will open (key fully clockwise)

in positions 2 & 3 pushing the key & lock mechanism "in" will open glove box, and pushing the seat release button enables seat to be opened.

inside glove box on left hand side of centre column is a manual seat lock release lever.

In addition to Mavers list, if you remove the key without locking the steering, you can still open the glove and saddle compartments. Only locking the steering locks the other compartments.
