right ive had to get hold of a standard pipe for my runner as the scorpion has broke again woo

anyway i picked one up off a guy i know. it came off a 125vx 05 reg old style

anyway the pipe is completely different to my old standard one its not the looks im bothered about as i know they changed them

anyway on close inspection the downtube looks thinner then my old standard and the hole out of the back of the exhaust is tiny

on close expection i was correct the actual diameter of the hole that goes into the head is much smaller on the exhaust i hve picked up and the hole is much smaller

now i always thought the 125s, 180s and 200s used the same pipe. it also seems to have a nut bolted onto it. does this mean the pipe is catalyic and that it is smaller to get through emissions

is this is the case its going to make my old 200 run like shit lol. can anyone tell me the real reason, have i wasted my money. not alot but i do need one asap

If its a 2005 pipe then yes it will be catalytic as they all have been since sometime in about 2002....

They did alter the pipes in 2004 to meet E2 regulations, if yours is before 2004 and the pipe is after 2004 then thats the problem!

So no all the 125, 180, 200s dont have the same pipe, they just look the same Wink

Im sure ive fitted a later pipe on an earlier one before and it ran fine, if the pipework is slightly narrower it will add torque to the engine so give it a little more grunt but loose a touch when running flat out...but the engine will have lost some topend power naturally by now anyway so i doubt youll notice, chuck it on and see Very Happy

yer my bike is an 03 and the pipes off a 05.

i suppose i dont have anything to lose but the oldpipe had more then enough gases coming out of it lol

oh well fook it ill see. it wont lean the carb out will it??

If anything it will richen it as less gas will escape Wink

the pipe is almost on for some reason the pipe wouldnt fit on even though it was in 1 piece. for the older models i had to take the clamp off to line in up properly

the hole at the end is alot smaller so i can tell its going to kill performance, ran out of time to finish as on stud was being a bastard
