noticed a bit of loss of top speed lately so thought i would check and change the belt, took it apart and the variator has a groove worn in it near the outside edge on both halfs,
so i take it its time for a new one ,do i go for the polini like whats in it or change to another make, i know the j coster ones are good but a bit pricey
anyone recomend anything diffarent
thanks _________________ Darkside, Norwich Broadsmen SC

Never run a costa, so can't comment except, like you said a bit pricey. The outer pulley half is about thirty quid, had one about a year back. I'd still go for the Polini on cost alone, Don't go Malossi though. _________________

How easy/difficult are these to fit? Any special tools required?
We could do with some step by step photo threads on here for this kind of stuff, well I could anyway having never worked on an auto before! |

I got my costa for £119, from Italy which I tought was reasonable. I've never run a Pollini so cant offer a comparison. _________________

Its got to be a Malossi and a mix of 12g / 13gram rollers.......
Don't believe all the rubbish in the scoot mag find out what is best for you and don't forget your weight..... It is no good having large rollers if you are 17-stone or over......
Bring on the comments ha ha ha........ |
