Update on the tinted screen! I have it back now, and have just fitted it
Not 'moddy' at all which was what i was a bit concerned about, in fact it reminds me of a CBR600 i used to have, that was red with a tinted screen
Anyways, there was one very slight bubble in the film that he couldnt remove but i can live with that no probs, for gods sake its gonna be covered in dead flies and shit soon!!
I will try and post a piccy soon as poss _________________

Painting works ok as it always looks fab on the outside... just getting the inside to look good is hard...
... tinting with film is ok for short term but doesnt last long... tinting plastic with film is a nightmare as the plastic emits a type of gas when its in sunlight, which makes the film bubble up, its a nightmare a lot of smart car owners know about as the rear windows are plastic |

Indeed... might not happen too much on a such a small part too??
Suck it and see... and film is removeable anyway so no harm trying. |

I've toyed with the idea of painting my screen (the same colour as the scoot of course-silver)
We used to paint the screen on T5 Mk1s and the Armandos Specials, it was inspired by the Ducati Pasos of the late 80s/early 90s. Always looked good to me.
Just not sure how it would look on the GTS screen tho.
Has anyone done it yet ? _________________ "Its better to die standing, than to live on your knees" |

It'd be great if one of the bike manufacturers produced these screens in as many finishes as you can get for sports bikes, anodised, mirrored etc. Not gonna put one on my scoot until a decent tinted one is available. |

Looks good Mike,
Daft question: why didn't you take the tint right to bottom of the screen? Or is it just a trick of the light? |

Looks very neat...
... im guessing the tint stops there as it becomes a double curve and would mean cutting the film into strips. |

That looks so much better than the clear version, be interesting to see how it holds up. |

I didnt actually do it myself as i entrusted a mate to do it at work.
He did it five times in the end and ended up putting the film on vertically so as no dust would settle on the screen
the bottom section apparently was a bit of a 'mare to do even if he did it as separate pieces so he left it clear, tbh it still looks ok, and if anything it emphasises the fact that it is tinted
Anyway, we'll see how long it lasts
Where can i get hold of the side panel badges, and roughly how much will they be? does anyone know?
I want to put some graphics on but need to replace the badges afterwards and i dont expect the originals will be salvagable - anyone? _________________
