Was going to take the side stand off the GTs today but noticed that it has what looks like a cable going to it.

It obviously isn't an engine cut-out for when the stand is down, so what does this wire do and should I be wary of cutting it?

think its the sensor
for the outside temp gauge
loads of us have taken our side stands off
no probs

This got me looking at my 06 model. I too have a 'cable' of some sort connected to the side stand. Question

Earlier threads on the side stand topic also mention some European law about an engine cut off connected to side stands..... Rolling Eyes

After over 20 years of messing with scooters..... this GTS has got me beat Exclamation

Everything seems inter-connected and makes a 5 min job take an hour. Luckily my local dealers are ace Exclamation

Yeah, I thought it might be an engine cut-out also, but after kicking the side stand down while sat at traffic lights and not having the engine stop obviously threw this theory out of the window.
Anyway, stand removed now, so no problem any more.
