I tried to post this earlier so apologies if this appears twice.
Came home from work tonight and noticed bird shat all over the front by the Vespa badge. Wetted a cloth and tried to wipe it off. Due to it being baked on by that rare yellow thing up in the sky, I had to use a bit of force. Bad move, It's now covered in fooking swirling scratches. I tried to polish them out - no good, it stands out like fook. Has anyone else came across this (cannot see it mentioned) on any other colours or is it just on black ? I have never known anything to scratch as easy as this scoot.

My black paint is the same, everytime I wash it there seems to be more light scratches/swirls.Think it's just cause black shows marks up more than any other colour
I tend to hose it down thouroughly to remove any grit or whatever before washing it. _________________ Darren |

Good reason to use a quality polish in the first place.T cut is crap use a fine polishing compound from farecla or 3m.This will remove swirls marks.Best used with a machine polisher but use with care avoiding edges or you can cut throgh the lacquer and then you will need a respray.can be used by hand on a soft cloth requires effort but you will be pleased with result.Use a quality polish afterwards to seal the paint.Bird shit is evil and can even "burn through "paint leaving staining.Hope this helps. _________________ Mr Vespa-cool as ice. |

being the lazy type is there a reasonably priced machine polisher available that you could use? I'm thinking of a small (battery powered?) hand machine rather than something you'll find at a scoot shop etc _________________

Great advice guys, as usual a great mix of answers. I have to admit if that bird shats on me scoot again, I'll rub her fooking nose in it and kick her up the pooper. Well were on the subject, can anyone reccommend a decent sprayer around Glos area ? Might be the excuse I need to have a bit of a spray job done. |

Edith sprays pretty well. She lives near Stroud. Not sure she'll be keen on spaying another bird's shat though. |
