Smudger, I don't know why it happened; I'm pretty sure I looked it over (didn't get out the alan keys, but had a close look) and it was fine like 2 or 3 days before. Rode into London and back a couple of times (200 miles) and second time on the way back the exhaust suddenly sounded a bit louder and 'different' enough to make me think "I'll have a look at that when I stop", Nect thing I know there's a tinkling sound behind me and a look in the mirror confirms the baffle pipe clanging down the road behind me closely followed by a juggernaut and a mass of London commuter traffic It was the A12 and looked to be a 'gonner' (I could see it clatter under the lorry's many wheels) so I didn't try and get it.
Thanks loads for looking into it, Jon, like I say, if you need anything bought, really do let me know! _________________ Do two and 1/4 rallies mean I'm not a scoot noob anymore? |

I will try the warranty route again I think - will pick a day next week when I feel like shouting at someone
I'd almost rather a Jon-baffle now, though - would be that much more 'special'
Make sure you stamp your moniker on the retaining plate, mate, if you come up with one!
If it turns out to be a common fault, you could have a little business going! _________________ Do two and 1/4 rallies mean I'm not a scoot noob anymore? |

Really shocked they wont replace the baffle, not good customer service at all . Will make sure mines secure before I set off home tonight.
It does sound awesome with the baffle out though _________________

Lol awesome is right, but I felt a little ridiculous with my MP3 sounding like a Harly. I love the scoot, but people did look around expecting a hog and then laugh when they saw me, the few days I had it unbaffled
It sure did get people moving out of the way though! I really want my baffle back - the baffled LV4Road was a nice-sounding pipe _________________ Do two and 1/4 rallies mean I'm not a scoot noob anymore? |

Oh good grief - was already peed off about missing the rally, now I'm doubly peed off for missing trying a Jon-special baffle.

Lol Smudger just pointed out that the Mersea rally is next weekend, so, ignore the twatty panic and I'll see you next weekend
Cool - soo looking forward to a Jon-special baffle! I'll be the only one sporting a Leo Vince / Jon-special 4 Road! _________________ Do two and 1/4 rallies mean I'm not a scoot noob anymore? |

Good fckin grief... I've had a nightmare.
Before fitting Jon's beautifully crafted baffle replacement I lovingly shaved to shape a gasket Mav found and tried the bolts in position. One bolt stuck in the hole and I realised that the thread had probably been damaged as the baffle worked it's way out. I didn't twist it too hard, honest, but on trying to get it out the welds holding the threaded hole/plate in place broke! Gah! Not much luck with this damn exhaust...
I'm gonna have one more go shouting at / persuading the warranty geezers and then give up.
I really would love another one and I'm pretty sure the weld breaking stems from the baffle coming out, but I also feel like boycotting the LV

Good news! I finally got around to sawing off the stuck bolt and I put a nutsert/rivnut into the threadless hole. Fitted the baffle! Yay!
While I was out there checking for suspension/electrical problems I thought I'd complicate things further by fitting the exhaust too
It works great!
So, thanks again Jon and Chev and Mav and all involved in helping me recover the LV pipe - I have a nice sounding scoot again!
