Hi I've seen posted on the site references to fitting a larger rear tyre to shift the point at which the rev limiter cuts in. This would presumably increase top speed. Being a fat b******d would this still work?? If so what size tyre would I need . Iwould appreciate any feedback, Cheers Graham |

personally i run a pilot sport 140/70-12 on the back and it's fine
have heard the schawble 140/70-12 has somehow got a larger rolling diameter and catches on the hugger wearing it away, allegedly..... _________________

no problem
i also swapped from a 120 to a 130 on the front, wouldn't recommend that as speedo does run a bit truer but lost "flick-a-bility" thru the bends big style _________________

A bigger tyre on the back should increase the top end speed, but at the cost of acceleration? if the bikes main job is on motorways I could see the advantage, but personally being a bit on the large size I think my bike struggles enough as is. _________________ GTS250 its the future!!! agreed, the combination of "larger" rider and 140 rear tyre may not be the ideal solution, add into the equation NEW (therefore full size) 140 rear tyre AND NEW belt and i reckon performance would go down as the motor wouldn't be able to rev out fully........
my own personal solution is to fit a new belt and new 130 rear tyre at the same time, then when the tyre needs changing at about 3500 miles and the belt has worn a bit fit a 140 rear tyre and get the performance back, then 140's until the belt needs changing again and back to a 130 _________________
