At bike business in Portsmouth they have an old vespa outfit on display, looking at it the sidecar is attached by a single tube bolted through the footboards. The handling of a combo is very odd at first eg open the throttle and it wants to go left-brake and off to the right. You have to steer not lean but you do have to lean the opposite way way to a solo! hope that makes sense Combos are a lot of fun to ride especialey on snow and ice. Hope thats helpful _________________ Vespa 300 super BSA Bantam, pushbike |

there's an elderly couple local to me who do the rallys on an X9 and sidecar, the sidecar was fitted by the local vespa dealer (now gone) who said it was so expensive they'd never do another _________________

You can fit a sidecar to a gts, I've done it and I've just done I.o.W. with it.
Had a great long weekend, outfit was fun to ride...

Yes thats the same type of sidecar.(mines been modified slightly)
Squire have not fitted one to a gts yet, they did say if I took it up to them they would make a mount for it.
I wanted it done for I.o.W. so a mate and I made a mount and fitted it ourselves.
It took about a week to do, including painting it, theres still a few bits to do to finish it off.
(recover seat, get a hood made and some trim in side.) _________________ big-7-s.c. [rally division] Darkside. |
