optimate says battery is fine and its holding a good charge

will try the ten minutes thing i guess ..but noticed my miles has reverted back to kms so somethings reset itself somehow ..

took it to the mot place with pm on and they said change it or it will fail!!??

if the ten mins thing dont worl then i 'll have to get the dealer to come get it as it's not rideable ..thanks for the info

Its a silly question, but sometimes the most obvious things are the most likely... when you swapped pipes you remembered to plug in the lambda sensor?

Also with the charged battery on the bike, start it and keep checking the voltage on the battery... it mustnt go below 12.5v or the ECU will start to shut down...

Batterys on the 250s are YB10LB2s if i remember rightly.....

Sounds like a new one could be needed...

Also check the bikes charging at a good 14V when at 2000rpm.

Strange things M.O.t's, as Cheeky Thomas says, what will pass an m.o.t may not necessarily be road legal. I know what he means, coz I'm an M.O.T tester too ( cars ).

I stay clear of car mots when i can Laughing Hate em... Lights on, Lights off, wiggle the steering... saying that all mots are dull dull dull.... its only the spectacular failures that make it all worth while Laughing

The best bit on cars is the ones that die during the emission tests... never had a diesel pop yet but plenty of petrols.... normally rovers or clios! Twisted Evil

Its the engine tone that makes it seem faster, when my standard exhaust started to blow it seemed much faster on acceleration. If you ignore the noise and use the speedo to gauge acceleration on a known stretch of road you will realise performance is the same. Wink

Glad you sorted your problem!!!!

my PM equipped GTs250 ran like a complete twat on the way home from work today, burping and farting like a naughty schoolboy so i done the "disconnect and 10min tickover reset the ECU thingy" as soon as i was home.

will see if it's any better tommorowday.

Might be worth checking the air filter box to see if its being swamped with oil from the breather pipe... could be struggling for air Confused

But let us know how it goes tomorrow. Cool

If you do find it quite messy in there, it might be an idea to ditch the airbox breather and fit a oil cannister instead which you could just empty as and when needed...
