|
|
I'm thinking about the Leo Vince 4 road.
Haywards Vespa (Cambridge) told me that the warranty is fine as long as they fit it themselves. Is this correct?
How would it be affected if another dealer fitted it?
Could i buy one myself and get a dealer to fit it?
Doh!! |

Piaggio as a company say aftermarket parts fitted in an attempt to increase performance invalidate the warranty... which is legally correct.
But the EU directive, which is legally binding states that as long as the parts fitted are equal or greater in quality to the original items then the warranty must remain intact.
So if you fit a Leo to increase performance then its invalidated the warranty... if youve fitted one to increase the lifespan of the machine then it hasnt
Dealers use the "if we fit it" to get the work, if anything fails that might be the exhausts fault, or get declined by warranty due to the exhaust, they "forget" to mention it to piaggio.... and all is good... in reality who fits it is irrelevent.
Personally i dont care who or what is fitted, i just make it clear that the new bits dont have a warranty with piaggio so dont come complaining if they fail before the originals wouldve... |

Hmmmm, clear as mud then!
Thanks for the explanation though!
I hink i will wait for the standard can to fall apart or the warranty to run out......whichever happens first. |
