Hi all,
Just a few words to give you an update on where I am. After after trying out a bike and negotiating (not much) with my local dealer,
I've pretty much settled on the following with a dealer from Spain (2 hours drive from here) for 3 GTS 300s (1 for me 2 for mates  ) @ 3500 € (£2700) each the normal price here is 4600 € (£3600).
Of course we'll have to add VAT which works out at about £400 on top of that, but that's still five hundred squids in the pocket!! and he'll throw in 3 flyscreens and prep. the bikes.
So should be on the road in about three weeks time.
Went to a rally last weekend and had a bit of a pang wondering if I would miss riding to rallies on geared Vespas or Lambrettas, but my mates are up for it, and we've got plans to hit the first rally next year on the GTS 300s!!
(Safety in numbers... if you think you get stick in the UK, never mind what it's like here  )
Anyway it was really easy to make my mind up reading all the interesting posts on here, I'm confident that the bikes are reliable and fun to ride, and there are some nice bits'n'bobs to do them up (the pirate upholsterer, PM pipes, smoked flyscreens etc)

we've done plenty of rallys in Belgium, France and Holland on the GTs's, raised a few eyebrows but hey ho who gives a fu*k 
keep an eye on the rides & meets section and who knows we may meet up with you on one of our jolly jaunts across the water

Thanks Maver will do. in fact I was at the Liège rally with a few mates and seeing such an impressive turnout of GTSs got us thinking!!

On saturday afternoon we visited a WW2 museum dedicated to the battle of the bulge (it seemed like a dry alternative), then it was back to the beer tent

Hi Claire,
Two whites one black, one of the white ones is for me, the only regret in not getting a black one is that I won't be able to sign write "Better in black" on the bike (like the old Prisoners song )
