So I have had the J Costa Variator on my scooter for around six months and now gone back to the original Piaggio one.
Why? Well the costa was great for initial acceleration say 0-40mph, really added some zip, but it doesn't get this extra power from thin air, it's at the expense of roll on acceleration from 40mhp upwards.
Having the piggio back on I notice the slightly slower take up from a standing start and extra oomph from about 40 onwards. Top speed is about the same. Not fully pushed it yet will be able to give a proper comparison afetr I've done a long journey, which should be the Minorities rally this weekend. _________________
