Mine was registered as black in colour when i bought it but is in fact silver and never been anything other then, is this a common thing?? I was worried that the scooter had suspect history even though it didnt come up on a hpi check. |

for a period of time all GTs's, regardless of colour were registered with the DVLA as being "black" seems it was an "administration error" _________________

Mike, I got the black mirrors from Gus Sutton at Vespaspares. I find them just as good as the originals - they are not as high, but just as wide, and have convex lenses just like the originals. They come with a set of adaptors for two thread sizes, and left and right hand thread, so there are no problems fitting them. They are French made FAR mirrors.
When I got my GTS, I had a problem with the mirrors flopping, always aimed at the road or sky. I had them replaced under warrantee, but one of the replacement ones also flopped around. With three duds out of four, I gave up on Piaggio mirrors and got these. No problems with them.

Beautiful Scoot Mike. I think all scooters look better naked. It's remarkable the difference in appearance between the first two pictures and the last. I guess thats just the sun? If vintage red is more accurately dipicted in the first two pictures, with that musty Nantucket ora, I think it's my new favorite color. _________________

Hi Jess, thanks for those comments. I visited the Catskills back in 1984 when I was in Poughkeepsie on an IBM assignment. Beautiful scenery, and lovely roads for scooting around.
The first two pics were taken on a rather cloudy day. I think the third shows the colour better. Some guy came on a Sydney scooter club ride early this year, on a GTS in that vintage red colour, and I fell in love with it and promptly sold my GT and bought one.
