There a creaking noise that appears to be coming from the rear wheel on my GTS 250.
If I move the wheel while on the stand I cant replicapte the noise, it olny seems to happen when there is weight on the wheel. Anyone have any ideas? _________________

That was my first thought, but I'm not sure, seems ok if I bounce around on it
I use the scoot daily for work and with light going early I cant look at it till tomorrow, casue the exhaust doesn't have time to cool down b4 its dark _________________

Check the rubbers in the shock mounts, could be warn or loose. _________________ big-7-s.c. [rally division] Darkside. |

Well theres 2 bearings... the inner bearing which is inside the gearbox, but they dont often fail...
Then the outer bearing is the one in the swingarm brace... dead easy to replace, bearings about £10 genuine or £5 from a engineering shop... about 15mins to fit. |

Just had to have the 2 rear bearings replaced on mine this week, only lasted for 8500 miles from brand new! not impressed but there was no charge, there trying to get re embursed under warranty from Piaggio, also had the indicator switch replaced { I think I damaged that} happy to pay for that bit surprised at £29 though even including labour, must be a minimum charge I guess, fair enough. _________________ GTS250 its the future!!! It'd be the ideal opportunity to get the swing arm brace powder coated as well!! _________________ |

Hmm thats what I thought, but they have changed the bearings free of charge, and a new exhaust gasket, which they are hoping to get paid for from Piaggio. Just checked the bill, your bob on with the pricing £7.36 + vat of course and £18 + vat labour, its not like I got a choice with the switch, it was done at the same time as the bearings _________________ GTS250 its the future!!!
