I know there has been discussion latelly about oil.

Basically because scooters have seperate gearbox oil they do not need motorcycle oil for wet clutches

This means car oil is perfect to use if you get the right spec, grade etc

Piaggio recommend Aqip oil Piaggio stated the oil must be API-SL or higher..

Lets use my nexus for example. piaggio say it needs 5w40 oil API-SL fully synthetic minimum. cost for a 1 litre of aqip is roughly £10 so thats £20 an oil change with top ups inbetween.

I went into my local car shop. checked around made sure they had fully synthetic oil 5w40 made sure it was API SL which it was.
