The original exhaust has now blown and needs replacing, as it's an MOT failure. Luckily, the nice mechanic gave me a pass cert anyway so I can tax her and use until the exhaust is replaced.

A direct replacement is £370 + labour, whereas I seem to be able to get a stainless steel one for about half that.

Which one would the membership recommend?

I don't want anything loud, nor do I care about any performance improvements, as my scoot's only for the Central London 30-mph commute. And, I'm not exactly a girl racer, either... Embarassed

I'd go for the Leo Vince if I where you. As the GT version of the LV is the full system it's the one I'd use especially as your not looking for extra noise. However while I've not personally heard a LV exhaust on a GT on the GTS is is a bit more motorbike sounding than the standard which I think sounds like an electricity generator. So not necessarily noisier but better Cool

Genuine is £319inc vat retail... i could knock about £40 off it for club members but thats the best i can do.

Leovince or Gianelli make stainless replacements for about £220 although you often find some good deals....

The LV is 169.99 for a GT (125 or 200) at PM at the mo, thats not inc VAT so comes to £195.45. Also postage is free if your a Vespa Club of Britain member.

Free postage at PM plus 15% off with the AA means I'm already £20 better off for joining Cool

Should I order this myself, or get Chelsea Scooters to order it for me, so I'd save the VAT and it'd be delivered to their premises. Also, not sure if they'd be happy with my cancelling the original Vespa can order and bringing another one for them to fit...

That's what I thought. I guess I can ask them to order one for me, though?

With lots of people fitting after market exhausts there will be loads of good condition second hand standard exhausts lurking in garages that will never be fitted again, maybe you should ask what sort of money one would cost off of someone on here, I think you'll be in for a surprise and a big saving. Idea
