Hi, Someone told me today that a GTS does not have a carb. Is this true. I know its four stroke, but does that mean there is no carb. Onlt ever had two stroke Vespa's and Lambretta's before. |

Fuel injection replaces the carb...
You can get carburetted 4 strokes like the GT, but the GTS is injected _________________

Even the new GTS125s are coming with fuel injection now... makes a huge improvement in driveability, and even power output. |

Here's what your fuel injection unit looks like, pretty similar in loos to a carb and on some modern bikes they are built to look identical to carbs (fuel injected Triumph Thruxton for instance). They're not as scary as they look either, takes 5 minutes to remove and replace one...downside is they cost about £500!

Thats actually the throttle body which a piggyback ECU.... fuel goes nowhere near it .... but thats the bit that sits where the carb would be, so close enough for this purpose i guess |
