feel a bit daft asking this, but i dont want to damage the scoot for the sake of asking a silly question, which is: how do you fit the short vespa flyscreen, thing is i can see that the 2 u brackets have got to locate into the sleeves under the headset and no doubt tighten up from the back, but how do you get the back of the headset off? ive undone the 2 little screws near the horn & starter, but it doesnt want to budge, so is there something else to undo, or do i have to prize it off using a screwdriver, and do the switches etc need disconnecting first, if so how? sorry to be a nob, but its always been a px or t5 up till now |

no, those are expanding bolts, they slide in the holes under the front of the headset and once fully located very carefully (it's a bit awkward)tighten with a 17mm spanner and they expand to grip the sides of the holes and hold rock solid. no need to take headset apart at all.
when you do fit the screen take time to get the gap round the headlight even all the way round, i've seen some nasty grooves caused by incorrect fiting causing the screen to rub on the headset sides......
yes i've got a groove on my headset _________________

Si, Build up the screen fully before offering it up, put 3 or 4 layers of rags over your paintwork around the headlight then pull it out after.

In case you have o take headset apart this is a good guide (intended for visor fitting but shows you how to get it all apart without snapping the plastic!) |
