You've probably checked, but is there anything fouling the lid in the box undrneath. over the edges but also the two flats as the box narrows in the middle. Is something trapped in the manual seat openong lever in the glove box. Have you moved the seat recently and has it twisted on the front two bolts. _________________

My seat catch has done that several times. I'm having on-going grief with the lock on my Vespa top box too. That thing locks only when it is ready to and not a second before. Pain in the butt!

my seat is a real pain in the butt! it seems to be so flexible, so somtimes it dont go down in the right place and you have to try it several times for it to lock down and if i have anything in the helmet bay like a jacket or somthing, it wont lock down until i sit my fat ass on the seat! _________________ Smoke me a kipper, I'll be back for breakfast.

This is quite commen.
Here's a trade tip!
Get a screw driver and put it between those two plates described.
Now gently lever them apart slightly so they are a bit farther apart.
Sorted in most cases.
A squirt with something slippy does no harm either. _________________ Creator of the fastest VESPA GTS in the world!....(until proven otherwise!) |
