I'm not slating the Fuoco but look what you get for five & a half grand when compared to a small car.
If something like a Ka is five grand new then how can something as simple as a scooter cost more? Well it's mainly because cars sell more than scooters so all the time we're subsidising each other. _________________

the chinese can make a 50cc scoter and sell it for £80 and make a profit
go and buy one of those and put it in the boot of the ford ka incase it ever breaks down, sorted
do you live in a tent?? i hear they're fairly cheap compared to a house..... _________________

shit cars are cheap good cars are expensive, you pays your money and takes your choice.......
i bet someone who's just taken delivery of a bently coupe or an aston martin doesn't think "fook me, i could've had a ford ka with air-con for £5k....."
and so it goes for the scooter rider, someone buys a fucco because it is what it is and not an alternative to a car....
as for you, you strike me as someone who doesn't really understand scootering as sees it as just a form of transport......maybe as a "stepping stone" to a car.....
why did you trade up from a puegot ludix to a nexus? they are both just metal tubes and plastic??? you could have bought a second hand ford ka with air-con.... _________________

I didn't step up from a Pug Ludix to a Nexus - there was a Piaggio X8 in between.
Why are you getting so upset for??? All I'm saying is scooters are expensive. Take the GP800 which is due out soon, that's rumoured to cost seven grand which is madness for a scooter. Look at what motorbikes you can buy for that sort of cash and you can't help feeling a bit ripped off.
The best thing to do (as with cars) is to buy used and let some other sucker take the depreciation hit. _________________

..........sounds like you're really yearning for a motorcycle phil....or a ford ka
what makes a motorcycle better than a scooter???
what is the deep down engineering difference???
fuel injection??
water cooling??
disc brakes??
tubeless tyres??
scooters are cheap, well cheap scooters are cheap...........good scooters cost what they cost.......
have you ever owned a scooter or car from new?? lovely feeling depreciation doesn't come into the equation if you intend keeping the thing you've saved for, yearned for _________________

Heated forum debate going on here
Im a biker, and have a car... And 99% of the time despite the weather ill take the bike, rain, wind or snow its been out as i simply enjoy it.
I do understand what phil is saying, when you look at all that goes into making a cheap car, seats, seat belts, radio etc etc then when compared to a scooter it can make you look a little bit ripped off. But that is life, the more desireable it is then the more they can charge for it.
And like has been said, you are comparing a budget car against a top of the range scooter. Where as you should say chinese £249 scooter Vs £4995 for Ka... scooter looks cheap now.
Take your Nexus phil, you can walk into comet and spend that sort of money on a TV for ya living room, and that does nothing really. |

I'm sure my daughter would love to watch Boogie Beebies on a 50" plasma TV. Personally, I'd rather have the Nexus! _________________
