The 3rd VCS Cannonball is on the 8th September, (7th if you fancy a weekend party).
Similar set up to last year. Based in Dunbar, a journey of around 150 miles, with around 10 stops and question points.
No set route this year, everyone will be given the brief, stops and questions on the morning of the race !
Then plan your own route and get out on the road.
Trophy for first place, patches for racers only, other booze prizes for valiant effort awards
Free get together / do on Friday night at The Rossborough, with a main do on Saturday night with a host of top DJ's.
The whole event is free to current and paid up members, event £5 to non members and the Saturday do only £3 to non members.
Camping at Belhaven again , and they have a few caravans left. See www.vespaclubscotland.org.uk for prices etc).
Free bus back to camp site at 1:45am.
It was a right hoot last year, dinnae miss out. _________________ Cheers,

Race Day & Registration...
Registrations for the race will be from 10:30am to 12:30pm on the Saturday.
Racers can leave at anytime between 10:30am and 12:30pm, but they must report to one of the race administrators to have their question sheet issued , timed & signed.
There will be around 10 stop points - each with a question about that area that must be answered correctly for the racer to be able to win (all questions must be answered corectly), but the stop points and questions will not be issued until the racer is ready to leave. IE, as soon as someone is ready to go, they are issued the stop points & question sheets from a race admin, and it will be timed & signed from that point. That is the racers starting time and they can choose whether to race off to the nearest check point, or plan their route first... time is ticking !
This way everyone can plan their own strategy. Do they head off quick, navigating on the fly... or do they sit for half an hour and plan a route first (remember... no sat navs).
It is up to the racers to make sure they report to a Race Administrator on leaving, and on return so they can be timed back in.
There will be a leader board up in the hotel with all the racers names, scooter types and their time to complete all tasks (assuming they are back in).
Who's going to have the best strategy?
Is it better to sit & plan first... or bolt off and plan as you race?
Will the roads be quieter in the morning or afternoon?
Place your bets folks ? The winner might not be known until the last racer is back in ! _________________ Cheers,
