How do!
I'm an old fart from Yorkshire, been on the road legally since 1984 when I get a Vespa 50 Special. Passed me bike test in 1989 and spent the next 14 years on jap bikes. Became a motorcycle training instructor and then in 2003 bought a P200E. Bought me wife an ET4 and rode it 40 miles home from Leeds on the M1 and it totally altered my died-in-the-wool opinion of autos. If the ET4 was this good what must the GTS250 be like? I bought one in March 06 and haven't looked back. I can honestly say, hand on heart, that the GTS250 handles as well as any jap (or german) bike I've ridden so far. I'm blown away by it. I can't fault the brakes, suspension and steering, and it's fast as feck, considering it's a scooter. I know you shouldn't trust the speedo but I'm 15 stone and regularly creep up to 90mph on mine (head down of course).
This beast will happily pull me, the wife and weekends worth of camping gear all day long at 75, peaking to 85 (according to the speedo). I'm a long time Vespa enthusiast and up until now had to grudgingly concede that the Lambretta GP200 was the best scooter ever built. Well not anymore - the GTS is the mutts nuts.
I ride it every day come rain or shine and have had lots of fun wiping the smirks off the faces of Harley riders, 250 jap bike riders and Lammy TS1 devotees.
After reading the views posted on here I will be investing in a small screen and might treat myself to one of them there fancy variators next year. |

Hello Dearnesman, and welcome to the geriatric scooter club. I turned 69 yesterday, but I am sure I am not the oldest. Have also referred to myself as "the old fart" in many previous posts.
Been scooting for 48 years and still love it.
