Hello all,
I have owned my Vintage Red GTS since March 06.
I bloody love it,...I use it as much as possible in preference to my car.
I always felt the stock pipe was too quiet and possibly lacked performance, so I got a Mark 1 Scorpion pipe and had it fitted.
The guys that did it apparently fitted it incorrectly so when I rode over the slightest bump it would jump up and smash into the plastic bottom section of the side panel damaging it..(luckily out of sight)
In a very short time the pipe got hotter and hotter on long runs and began increasing significantly in volume. Eventually it sounded like a Harley and my number plate began to melt (I kid you not)
After some correspondance with Brain at Scorpion it was agreed that their first pipe for the GTS was not up to the job and they sent me a Mark 2 version at no extra cost which they assured me was far better engineered.
And so it seems they are right. This one came with a new type of fitting bracket and 2 slings instead of just the one previously, and I've had it fitted (and a new numberplate) both at my own cost unfortuantely...£70
I have to say, It's been on for 2 weeks or so, it sounds great,..not too loud to annoy the neighbours, it performs well and seems to be the business....SO FAR !
I'll keep you posted.

Thanks for the update. The new pipe sounds better than the old one - after reading a few reviews I have had concerns about the longevity of the Scorpion.
Keep us posted. I've actually been waiting on the release of the Leo Vinci pipe for the GTS, but that seems to be taking forever........

PS. Say hi to Chuck for me. |

Thanks Nuttyscoot - I've added Andy to my eBay favorite sellers. If I can't locate a seller here in Oz I'll buy one from him.
Cheers |

ahhh like your work...
not sure the pipe will increase any performance at this stage until the rev limiter is taken out the picture and lots of fiddling with the PM box best go J costa variator or poloini one first and work from there , rear tyre etc.
good price though _________________ GTS OWNERS CLUB

I'm absolutely sick that I paid over £200 for a bag of s**te that is the Scorpion. I'm now on my second pipe, (and fourth metal strap) and it's getting really loud again. This second pipe was sent to me in July, so I don't know whether this is a m1 or m2. (?)
I'm getting a LeoV pipe instead. It would appear to me that Scorpion literally threw this thing together, and this probably ranks as the worst £200 I've spent in a while. It's loud, it gets way too hot, and does not fit right at all. The entire silencer is now blue with the intense heat, and it's going straight into the bin as soon as I can get a new LV fitted. _________________ C'mon the Hoops! |
