|
|
i want to tone my scooter down a little and get more top speed from my scooter.
i'm running a polini variator and it revvs like crazy off the line, i love the accelleration but i want it to rev slightly lower than it is at the moment.
it feels like its revving a little too high and power is being wasted.
it has the red and yellow weights in that came with the kit but i dont know what weight they are? (i dont have any scales)
this is a standard scooter apart from the variator and pm pipe.
i was just wondering what weight to use that'll not kill my accelleration too badly but will give me more top speed.
oh and another question, does anyone know what's inside a pm pipe? i'm gonna have to re pack mine. its getting too loud. _________________ revolution deathsquad! |

The YELLOW weights are 13.2 gr and the RED ones are 14.7gr. Together giving an average of 13.95gr.
The lower the weight the higher the revs on take off. You don't have to use Polini weights though as long as they are 20x17mm thats fine, so Malossi or PM or any other will work.
As for the PM pipe, PM sell a kit to repack them including all you need. _________________

You cant actually gain top speed from roller weight changes, top speed is governed by pulley diameter and final drive ratios... roller weights control the rpms to variator operation time period. The only way you can gain top speed from weight changes, is if the bikes badly set up and bogging down from being in a high gear too quickly so its unable to rev up. |

All you need is come decent sealing rivets and some baffle packing.
Normal baffle packing is about £3 from bike shops.. and should be easy enough to find. |

Yea you could always do it yourself, but its far easier to buy the kit. Just give them a ring, can't rember how much it was but i don't think it was expensive. _________________
