Have been looking to get a Polini variator for my Nexus 250 (GTS engine), as Russ reckons the Malossi one is not man enough for the job.

I've found 2 different variators that will fit the 250 Quasar engine.
Question is, which one is the best one to fit & what is the difference between them.

This is for the 250 Quasar engine:

https://www.pmtuning.co.uk/Merchant2/merchant.mvc?Screen=PROD&Store_Code=PT&Product_Code=06-PO241_645&Category_Code=0006POLINI

This one fits the 200 Leader engine & is used in the GTS also:

https://www.pmtuning.co.uk/Merchant2/merchant.mvc?Screen=PROD&Store_Code=PT&Product_Code=06-PO241_621&Category_Code=0006POLINI

It seems very strange that 2 different variators can fit one engine.
I did e-mail PM for clarification but his reply did not help me at all.

Confused Confused Confused

and the malossi's are cack!

youll be glad you got the polini kit, because youll be leaving those malossi gts's behind.

Yep, the malossi one's run themselves dry!

It's definitely this one 06-PO241_645

It's listed in the Polini online catalogue http://uk.polini.www.portal.tradenet.it/upl/pdf/c/CG_05.pdf

Both will fit, but the 645 is designed to compliment the GTSs torque curve so maximises available power.

if you want something thats tried and tested get a polini, if you want something thats REALLY difficult to get hold of in this country, get a j costa.

and the price of the jcosta is high.
