WANTED: GTS FLYSCREEN & FRONT RACK
I am just testing the water here, but if anybody has either of the above for sale at a reasonable price please let me know.
The flyscreen is required out of curiosity
The front rack is needed before Beat Sugar 08!
..I knew I should have got everything at the time of buying the scoot!.... |

bit of advice.....
flyscreen great, especially genuine small vespa one, gives you 5mph on you top end speed ya-hooo!
front rack, no, great idea but have been know to damage legshields and they kill the top speed, for what you can get on them you might as well not bother anyway
just my opinion _________________

Cheers Maver
It's always handy to get a word 'from them that knows'
I guess the front rack cancels out the advantage of the flyscreen, but can't see how else we gonna manage. I guess that if i'm careful with the fixing of the front rack....
Seriously, thanks for taking the time to point out the potential issues here. But unless anybody has either for sale it's all academic anyway. Will just have to use copious amounts of bungees and not worry about lights, have to unpack everything at every petrol stop, and wear the tent as a lumbar support - just like the old days!! I'm looking forward to allready! |

luggage.......
i use waterproof bags that canoeists use, roll top, just the job
i hang one from the luggage hook and i rests on the battery cover mat thingy.
as i ride solo i put one acros the rear seat too (i have some hooks rivetted to the seat edge)
i took my rear rack off and just strap my tent to the grabrail.
i don't use bungees either, i use tie down straps, much better _________________

Big no no for the front rack, if your struggling for luggage space then get some throwover panniers.......alright your as wide as an elephant but keeps weight spread low so handling not that bad compared to stacking it 5ft high on a flimsy backcarrier
here is a pic of what I mean taken on route to beatsugar rally as I use them all the time when on the lamby and will use them on GTS this year
PS pic taken outside Hotel in Etaples where we are all staying on route to Cobblestone Rally

obviously you don't get any problems with the panniers affecting the (nice ) paint on your scooter at all? the thought of that's always put me off paniers bags _________________

Always trusted in a quality towel from M&S to go underneath (polishes as well as protects)
This year however I've found some stuff bikers use to go under their tank bags it's magnetic and protects the paint just got to find a shop that sells a big enough piece to fit

Errrr... canoeist's bags, panier bags, tie down straps ??
I think i might have just made myself sound like a character from 'Life on Mars' !!
I think i might need to drag myself into the current century and go shopping..... in a 'canoe shop'
