basically yesterday I changed the drive belt in my runner. I cleaned out the air filter in soapy water and went home in the pissing rain. was running ok just chugging off the mark

anyway today I took everything off and changed the clutch, changed the oil, oil filter and spark plug

I also took the air filter off to a sea of water. I dried the air filter out and left it in the sun. I put the filter back on the INSIDE of the lip in the airbox.

I changed the plug that got a little damp the day before but I dried it off

anyway it's running great seems to rev higher pulling away and runs just like normal noice and quiet etc. but heres the problem

when I accelerate after 1 or 2 seconds it seems to pull back like the would happen if you hit a puddle and then went off again. it's bloody iritatiting

anyway what have I done wrong I know it's something silly

the bike starts up and drives perfectly btw

1) spark plug faulty
2) air filter still not in right, should sit on the lip not inside it (filter seemed to big)
3) water in the carb from yesterday but I didnt notice it on the way to halfords earlier to get oil and the bike was done right after
4) clutch problem but I doubt itas the revs seem to drop when it holds back
5) spark plug not in right but it seems to do it always after taking off not really sure about when your going along
6) air filter not been oiled. didnt think this was essential

many thanks

it's a niggly problem

also the haynes manual says about aligning the metal thing in front of the front pulley and the pulley itself

mine doesnt have any markings at all

If you havent oiled the air filter it will be running slightly leaner than normal and letting lots of rubbish go through the carb.

The foam alone cannot filter air as its got lots of tiny holes in it and the dust works its way through as its being sucked in by the induction pressure of the engine... oil it and do it quick Wink
