i,m taking my gts offt he road for winter, painting wheels, polishing casing etc.
if i leave the battery off for a couple of months will it do the bike's electronics any harm?

Just keep the battery charged, on a trickle charger once a week or so.

They look great but need a hell of a lot of maintainance, unless ypu laquer, even then it peels and isn't as shiny.....thought of chrome ??

Dont do it, chrome on alloy is biz, looks good for a bit but always starts flaking off, doesnt matter what you try to do, 12 months max before it will need re chroming, unless thats acceptable? Shocked

Not always, if its done properly it lasts......Look at the Chrome tranny cover on Matty's Drag...been on for years and still looks fantastic.

not going the chrome route, i've got a money pit lambretta that i wont use cos its too shiny, might even satin black everything apart from the frame.

Well all Ive got to say is, my chain case cover on the Lammy lasted only 1 winter and 2 summers, then I got it bead blasted to get the remaining chrome off, and had it black powder coated. Perhaps its because a Lammy gearbox gets warm?
