|
|
Just finished fitting my optimate and combined ciggy lighter ... I bought the ciggy socket from maplins along with a lead..[img]
[/img]
I then extended the permanently connected optimate lead up into the glove box..
I can now just plug the giggy adapter in when i'm riding to charge phone/ tom tom ..
[/img]
and when i'm back home and it's away for a while i can plug my optimate mate in to charge battery..

EVERYONES A WINNER !!![/img] |

find a nice bit of plastic. maybe under the seat that a fag lighter can be bolted to
heres mine
make sure you have an inline fuse like i have (the white thing) i think i have a 5 or 10 amp fuse in there. it saves the loom from catching fire etc. it then has eye connectors to bolt it to the battery.
perfect for phone or sat nav etc
not sure if it will work to charge though _________________

Hi Igarrat
scuse for asking as I'm a space cadet when it comes to electrics but in firt pi you say permanetly connected optimax and wire goes up into toolbox but where is this connected to? is it straight to battery or is there other conection?
like I said ain't got a clue really but want to wind up the other trogs with a satnav as already had the 'thought that came with heated grips' etc when I turned up at a meet freezing cold recently.
Cheers

The connector in the glove box is basically is a red and black wire( + & -) connected straight to to pos and neg via (inline fuse) on the battery..hope this helps.. Ian |

Not too sure if you should be smoking while riding?
“I then extended the permanently connected optimate lead up into the glove box..”
Can you explain this a little more please, is this the kind of DIY job or should it be done by a professional?? _________________ Simon Cuerden

Haha, GTs brewed cup of tea in a lay-by a zillion miles from home instead of £4 for a papercup of petrol station "starwank".........
sounds good to me _________________

Indeed it does, need a little stash of the tubes of coffee, tea bags with draw strings and sugar that you get in hotel rooms... |

already sorted m8, we use camping stoves at rallys instead of paying good money for a poly cup of PG shit dishwater after queueing for half an hour at the snack bar _________________
